Anybody here have any expieriences with Armalites AR30 in the 338 lapua? considering a fast .338 for my next rifle.

I haven't used the AR-30, but I have a 338 Lapua in the Sako TRG-S (M995). Ballistically, i find the cartridge no better then the 340 Wby (2960 fps w/250 gr bullets). The brass, however, is great stuff. Perhaps the longer barrel of the AR-30 will allow a performance boost. - Dan

My mate and are on an order list for one of these AR 30's but who knows if we will be able to get it to Australia. Hope it does not come in the next couple of months as I am strapped for cash at the moment.
