What is the overall weight range for the 9.3? I'm thinking of Makarov bullets for cat's sneeze as well as the biggest, toughest ones for large bears . PAK

Don't know about the low end of the weight range, but, I think I saw Ray post something about 320 grain Woodleigh's.

Hawk make 9.3 bullets from 200gr. up to 320 gr.

Guess I can't spell bullet. Anyway, 320 sounds like on the tail of the 375 H&H. I remember seeing 286 gr in some European writings. I've been extremely interested in a .358 Win. but if the Savage deal falls through then I will look at the CZ American, the CZ fullstock, or rebarreling an older Ruger with the tang safety to 9.3. I may even chamber any of those guns in the 64mm version. I haven't decided on that detail. I would have to decide if I want to be able to case form from .30-06 or have to buy more obscure brass. The 9.3 shouldn't be that hard to find components for. I had thought about the .358 for a long time. I have swaging dies for the .358 lead bullets. That made it look good. But the 9.3 will not be any harder to find if I buy swaging dies. Pak

Hawk makes bullets but they come apart on game with way too much regularity...I won't use them anymore...

These are just the ones I have used...

I tried makarovs 95gr XTPs but then went and used a filler and marked the chamber. I gave up but it showed early promise with OK accuracy at 50m.

You will have tremendous difficulty seating. All the seating stems are far to short, it is also very difficult to seat straight with such a short bullet.

I suspect a custom made seater stem and red dot would do the trick.

I also recently got some 230 gr. GS Customs HV monolithic H.P.'s for my 9.3x62's, should cook at near or at 3000 FPS...we'll see. Also some FN solids to poke at Buff.

well guys,I have been playing around with the Lee makarov bullets in my 9.3x62 for a couple weeks now and for a small game load I`m using 7 grains of red dot,reformed l-c brass just use all from same year,cci bench rest primers,and Lyman super moly cast bullet lube in the groove,this is after tumbling with moly first,not sure of vel. but 50 yards and .5" 5 shot groups are common.I am also interested in proper weight cast bullets for this bore size,hopefully someone turns some up.Also tried some .375`s resized to .367" in a homemade die,just a push through but not from Lee.they weigh 275 grains and shoot very well over my standard load of 12-13 grains of RED DOT that seems to work in almost all cases of this size for some reason,100 yards and most groups under 1.5-1.75" for 5 rd groups,not sure of bullet mould make as it was not mine,a friend gave me about 80 of them to try.well hope the mak load helps as a start,more powder and they lost their grip and leaded very bad.the 275gr are showing promise with a good load of RL-15 also.

Lately I`ve been shooting the Speer 90gr gold dot mak bullets over 26 gr. of aa5744,at 100yds they group with my regular hunting load (250 nosler b.t. over 58 gr. rl-15),most groups are well under 1" with them,and no filler is used,I also tried the 90gr bullets with red dot but not much success.the things we do when we have too much time on our hands.Hopefully they won`t be too destructive for small game season.
