5.6 x35R, some who use it?
Hello all

More old, forgotten caliber questions from me.

The old vierling caliber, 5.6 x35R, are there some who use it now?
It is now replaced by the 22 hornet, I am told, but is there some who use the old vierling? Brass around?

Thanks for looking

Cheers all

vegard,

The original cartridge was called the 22wcf. The 22 Winchester Center Fire cartridge. It was black powder loaded with a lead bullet. In the 1920's, experimenters here used the 22 Velo Dog bullets turned upside down and swaged to a soft point 46gr bullet. They just renamed it the 22 Hornet. That is a bee type of insect noted for its ferocity.

The Europeans just began to chamber the new smokeless version. You can buy ammunition and brass from Norma and RWS, and American companies as well. It is a fine cartridge.

regards,

Rich
