I kind of agree. If I had to pare my rifle battery down to only 2 rifles (for North American hunting), it would be my 6.5x55 and my .35 Whelen.

Having said that, if I had to pare it down to just one, it would be my .30-06, or maybe replace the '06 with a .300 Win Mag.
