First day at the range
First day on the range with my 9.3x57 Husky. After a little drifting of the rear sight, was able to keep the rounds in a paper plate at 70 paces with factory Norma 286gr. These are really neat little rifles, probably 6.5lbs. Holds 5 in the mag, the action is smooth, flawless feeding and the trigger an excellent two stage, better than the Cech mausers I have. The cock on closing you hardly notice initially, then not at all after a few rounds. It looks exactly like the picture of the Mauser sporter on page 399 of COTW, 9th ed. 14.5in lop that fits me perfectly. I am surprised these rifles are not more popular here in the states. Can you tell I really like it? Bob

Sounds like a keeper to me, Bob!!

Something about trying out a new, to you anyway, rifle/round at the range, isn't there? I'll bet you get some strange looks at the sporting goods store when you ask for 9.3x57 ammo, huh?

Good luck with your new/old toy!!

R-West, Most definitely. My brass and dies should be in this evening along with some 250gr Noslers. I have cut off and trimmed some '06 brass and will run 'em through the dies and try my hand at fire forming. Bob

Got the dies, bullets and a box of Norma brass. Made some brass out of '06 cases and they mic out same as factory. What fun, but I'm glad you only have to do it once. BTW, the Hornady dies work just fine. Bob
