Thanks 9.3 , Rifle had been a safe Queen for years , think it was more of a gift , at that price I'm sure he could have gotten a lot more for it but just wanted me to have it , he said he thought it had been built as an African Plains Rifle , weighs just a little over 6 pounds , bore is .323 - ( 8x57js ) and nice , Serial number is 78x70 (5 digit) so think it is a 1912 or 1913. I will post pictures if I ever figure how ; ) Also have a CZ 550 American 9.3x62 great rifle and fun to load for and shoot Smiler

The Lyman #35 receiver sight alone is worth $250 plus.

Well really surprised about the Lyman sight at $250 + and I really have no idea of what the Rifle is worth , I will not butcher it for it's action , it is too nice of an old Rifle to do that to and there are other Rifles and Actions out there. Slugged the barrel , it is .323 and strong , so ordered some dies , brass and bullets , WHY NOT

The more common Lyman 48s, 57s & Redfield 70s mount on the right side of the receiver bridge. The Lyman #35 which mounts on the bolt release is fairly scarce, primarily seen on fine pre-war German Mauser sporters like JP Sauers, etc.

Looks nice. As part of any customizing, I always get rid of those magazine opening levers-they seem to have a habit of opening the mag. and dumping your rounds in the swamp at the most inopportune times...... They are ONE kraut affectation I can do without. Love the double-set trigger, though!!
