SMLE,

I want to make the move to woodleigh's when I shoot off all my loaded speers, did you also consider the 250 gr RNSP & the new 286 gr protected point at all ??

I would be interested to hear your load for the 286 gr woodleigh mate.....by the way great to have a public holiday hey !!

PC I went with the 286gr bullets because there is a chance to go and destroy some feral cattle I am using 55gr of 2208 (starting loads in harveys book) I think I will look at the 250 woodleighs as my standard bullet last night I thought it was great to have a public holiday this morning someone called in sick so I am working today ahh well shit happens they say but why always to me????

Any input on the 35 caliber Woodleigh as loaded by Norma ?

SMLE,

I think the woodleigh will be perfect for what you want, there may not be any need to reisght for the 250's You may be better just sticking to the 286 gr bullet for the lot.

Jimmy I am unsure about the answer to your question mate.

SMLE,

buy the way what speeds will you get from the 286 gr woodleigh & 55 gr of 2208 ??

I have forgotton what barrel length your running, my cz lux has 23" barrel. I am using 56 gr of ar2208 behind the speer 270 grainer with lapua case and wlr spark, no chrono but I figure about 2500 fps.

PC I haven't forgoten to chrony the loads you are using I just have to find where the club chrony is my barrel is 24" I am guessing they would be doing about 2250 fps (my loads that is)

I wonder if 2400 fps is possible with the 286 gr from your 24" I bet it is....is it RL 15 that really works well with the 9.3 and a long tube ?? If I remeber right Ray Atkinson uses RL15 and swears buy it, the shooters warehouse will get it in if you wanted it I think.

Paul...I get 2500 from my 24" barrel with RL-15 and the 250 Barnes and my loads are still below max...I haven't loaded any 286 grainers yet, but I suspect I could get close to 2400 with them...

My top loads with RL-15 in the 9.3x62 with the 286 gr. Nosler or Woodleigh clock 2520 FPS without pressure signs and in a 26" barrel...I can duplicate that load with H414..

I get 2400 with the 320 gr. Woodleigh...

Sounds like Rl 15 is the way to go in the 9.3 if one can get it. I manage 2450 with 54gns 2208 over a Nosler 250gn BT but it sure is accurate with that load.

I am changing to Lapua brass from RWS and will be interested to see if there is any changes to velocity.

Guys quick Q, is RL 15 the same powder as the Swedish Norma 202?

I have a good load of 53,5 grains Norma 202 over a 320 grains Woodleigh that will do less than 25 mm for 5 rounds @ 100 meters and that wont kill your shoulder.

I have the outmost confidence in the Woodleighs.

Best regards Chris

RL 15 was the same as N203.

This is the letter that is referred to in the Norma Manual - any good ? thread but the graphic is no longer showing in that thread. The file was originally posted by Richard Saloom and I saved it. Since this letter was written, Norma 203-B has replaced Norma 203.

NOTE: Read the last paragraph of the letter carefully. Good advice about reducing charges and working back up.

I have taken a lot of game with the 286 gr Woodleigh Soft in my 9,3x74R.
It has performed perfectly from game the size of bobcat & deer, up to Cape buff.
It is one of the best, if not the best Soft for a 9,3.
