Caliber : .280 Remington

Rifle : .300 H&H in a 721 customized

I'm reading this to apply to Medium Bores only. My .280AI in a Pre-64 Mod 70 action and Shilen Match barrel is my favorite. If the .280 can't do it then I have a sister M70 in .375H&H but there's not much real need for a loudnboomer here in North America (notice how careful I was to say 'need').

30.06 and 9.3x62. Either one would be my choice as a one gun battery almost anyplace.
I have a remington 700,2nd year production that is marvelously accurate and a good trigger. My CZ in 9.3 is my next favorite. These two have been to Africa 4 times and are my "go too" guns.

One of my all around favorites would be the .338 win mag.

Well for me it's my 243 comp bbl for the small critters, all else get an 8mm slug from a custom 8mm-300 win mag from 125gr to 250gr. my fave is the 180gr rem's and the 200gr ap fmjs

7X57 OR 9.3x62

The 7x57 and 9.3x62 are two of my absolute favorites.

Remington 600 cal .308Win.

I guess I'd have to think about that for about two seconds...

My Favorite Caoiber is the what the my 300 Ultra shoots right now it has loaded for the 200gr nosler.

Big fan of the 7mm Rem.Mag. and I love my Sako M75. With accurate shot placement it will kill anything in North America and I've had remarkable success with 160gr. Core Locked. For a multi use gun I favor my Remington Carbine 750 in 30-06.

Berger doesn't make a VLD 40gr. bullet for the Hornet? That would be my choice...

Favorite Calibers: .338, .375, .323, .284, .224
Favorite Cartridges: 338 Win mag, 375 H&H and 375 Ruger, 325 WSM, 7 WSM & 7mm Rem mag, 223 Rem. and a few more in the above calibers.

There is only one--The .340 weatherby magnum. It downs anything in my neighborhood, man or beast.

My experience is limited to the 7mm-08, 30-06, 9,3x57 and 358 NM. Of these the 30-06 in a model 70 is the one I have carried the most. I have only favorable experience with it on Norwegian red deer, and not surprisingly, the stenbok, jackal, warthog and blesbok of Limpopo did not have any complaints either. For beasts of the mentioned magnitude my favourite is the 30-06 hands down. However, on my first (and unsuccessful) moose hunt, I wanted something more. Some guys believe in a well placed first first shot and others in bigger bullets. I believe in both. So I brought my 358 Norma and a handful of 250grs Oryx loads. This rifle has no problems whatsoever in killing red deer either. It is a little heavier to carry than the model 70 30-06, but for an all-around big game cartridge, save for the big five, the 358 Norma is my favourite.
