Check out this rifle at Gunbroker I think it has 2 things going for it. The caliber and the history. If I was Right-Handed I would probably try to own that gun. Sean

The guy has been running that ad for almost a year now. His minimum is closer to $2K and he exhibits his wealth of misinformation about low numbered Springfields. Or he knows better and is just trying to pass it on to someone who des not know. They do blow up and he is just trying to gloss over it. Save your money for something worthwhile.

I've been following this gun for quite a while and Chic is absolutely right. He's listed the gun in Auction Arms as well. PLUS, if you contact the fellow he is downright obnoxious.

It's also at Guns America for about $1695. If a Sedgeley collector could get it for under a grand he might have something, but I wouldn't shoot it. If it were a high-numbered gun it would have sold long ago. Okie John.

I passed on a low numbered semi-sporter at the last local gun show. The guy was asking $150 for it Saturday AM and he still had it Sunday afternoon. I really don't think they're worth the risk at any price unless you're lookin' for a really expensive wall hanger.

yes it's a low # action and NO they don't blow up Read the details of the accidents in Hatcher's book before buying the line. Hint; bad ammo & operator error explain almost all.

I wonder if my lawyer could get me some money from that statement?

Naaaaahhh, it isn't worth a couple of body parts.

It was his grandpa's and it was built in the 20's. I bet the old man is spinning in the grave! "Ingreat, selling the family heirlooms" [Mad] I agree with the above statments, it's not a shooter, but it would seem to have some family history. It would make a wonderful conversation piece and something I'd be proud to own. If it had been my grandfathers, it defiantly would not be for sale!
