Re: after market trigger for a remington 721
Can anyone tell me where I can buy an after market trigger for my Remington Model 721? I checked all of the stores that sell gunsmith/shooting equipment and I cannot sem to find one. I'm only aware of the Timney and Jewell after market triggers. Are there others?

For starters, the triggers on the old model 721 and 722 Remingtons were pretty readily adjustable. Not that hard to do, really.

But if you want an aftermarket trigger there is simply none better than the Jewell.

Other brands besides the Timney are Rifle Basix and Shilen.

What is wrong with your OEM 721 trigger group??

A 700 trigger group can be installed on a 721/722 action by milling a cut for safety lever clearance on the RH side of the rear tang.

Thank you for your response. I recently installed a Jewell trigger on my model 700 and I guess I'm spoiled. I checked the trigger pull weight on my 721 with a RCBS Trigger Scale and it goes between 3 3/4 pound to 4 1/2 pound. I was looking for lighter and more consistency in the pull weight.

Thanks for the great advise as I now know what direction to go.
