Has anyone taken game with Remington's 250-gr. spitzer load? How did it work? My rifle shoots it better than expected and I'm developing a new fondness for it. Thanks in advance, Okie John.

I've not used the "Remington" 250 gr Spitzer, but I have used Hornady 250 gr bullets on game, and must say I was quite impressed.

Stay under 150 yards, and don't ask it to do more than it was designed for, and you should be very happy.

I killed my first brown bear with a .35 Whelen Encore rifle when I was living in Alaska. Walked up on the bear at about 25 yards broadside. He never knew I was there. 250 grain Remington Core Lokt factory load went right on through. He was dead within 2 seconds. Good for me as I about pooped my pants. Might have had problems getting the Encore reloaded in time if he had taken offense to being shot. We had seen some black bears in the area earlier in the year and were actually hunting them, but season was open and had a tag in my pocket.
