BFaucettRe: shoulder angle of 9,3 x62?
buttstock,
I just recently acquired a CZ 550 in 9.3x62 also. I purchased the RCBS dies. But, I haven't fired the rifle yet so I can't be of much help. You've raised some interesting questions. I hope some of the more experienced forum members will be able to help.
FWIW, and as a reference for this thread, here's the cartridge dimensions per Steve's pages:

buttstockI have acquired a CZ 550 American in 9.3x62. I would like to get a set of dies to reload it. I asked CZ-usa, RCBS, Redding, and Lapua what the shoulder angles were of this chambering for their related product (dies, brass, chamber).
CZ reports a "13.8 degree shoulder angle per side." RCBS's resizing die has a 23' angle. Redding reported a 17.5' angle, and Lapua reporteda 34.95' shoulder angle.
I want to match up the chamber's shoulder angle to the die to avoid headspace/overworking brass issues. The CZ-usa response really surprised me, being so low. I thought the 9.3x62 had a more abrupt shoulder angle than the 30-06 (which is 17.5').
Does anyone have a CZ 550 in 9.3x62 out there? If so, what do you use for reloading dies? Do the fired cases from the CZ 550 "look" like ~ 17.5 degrees, or "more abrupt?" I don't have any loaded ammo to try it myself. I emailed CZ in Europe 3 times, with no response.
Sure would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.
