finally took the M70 out to the range. 1958 vintage model. grabbed some of pop's 30/06 reloads.

Love every inch of it! Funny how we all spends thousands of $$ on the latest and greatest rifles, reloading gear, optics then get on this forum and pick it to death when all along the latest and greatest has been in the closet all this time!

That looks like one of the old B&L scopes with adjustments in the mount, not internal.

Yes, I just sold an old Steyr with that exact mount, and a Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8.

Are you still interested in an old (1956) M-70 in .458 WM? It would look nice beside that beauty. I still have it. According to the blue book the value has gone up, but not the price.....Tom

yep. I have 2 of those old 2.5-8 scopes, that one is actually painted brownells black. The third one is a 2.5-5. They seem to work.
