I see them as two completely different rifles with some overlap in their uses. (okay thats how I justify it) Like having a .250 Savage and a 6.5 Swede or a 8x57 and a 338/06.
Buy'em, shoot'em, enjoy them.

The 9,3 is often built in lighter rifles with full 5+1 capacity. The 375 demands a heavier action, and is often seen with longer barrels.

PatagonHunterHi,
I am convinced a .375 H&H can be made as light as a 9.3x62. And a M98 can be made in .375 easly. As the thousand M98 .375 H&H in existence.
I vote to have both!! But if I must have only one this will be the .375!!

Dave BushI went just the other way. I have had several .375s but once I discovered the 9.3X62, I traded them off. I now own two and have a 9.3X74R on the way. The .375 and 9.3 are both great cartridges but the 9.3 makes up into a nice, light. more portable rifle with not much recoil.

mstarling<chuckle> I just want to make sure I have the medium bore bases fully covered ... I have a nice .375 H&H, two 9,3x62s a 9,3x74 double rifle, and a nice .338 Win Mag.

Bill6.5You haven't considered the 9.3x66 (370SakoMag)?
Crunch the numbers...375H&H equal with the kick of a 35Whelen. No belted brass, Great shooters in a quality Sako85 action. What's not to like?
09 February 2011, 22:14
Dave BushBill, do you have a source for 9.3X66 brass?

900 SSAccording to lapua.com, the 9,3x66 is no 375 H&H but I agree that the 35 whelen has a surprisingly light recoil.
I'm not into 223 for deer discussions so I stick to the fact that a 9,3 bullet is less efficient than .358 and .375 bullets.

I'm sorry, it probably made some sense in my head. I meant that the "9,3 vs the rest" discussions is more interesting to me than the 223 threads, but not enough to be very serious about it.
