Kimber Mountain Ascent?
Anyone who's got any experience with this model from Kimber? It's pretty new, but hopefully someones been able to test it. Not in Norway yet, but probably some time in 2013.

Been looking for a lightweigth mountain rifle for a while, and almost bought a regular Kimber Montana. Maybe I will anyway. It's only 5 ounces heavier and cheaper Smiler

I was told by Kimber, here in the States, not to count on one for this hunting season, but for next season (2013).

I have a Montana 84L in 30-06 and just can't see why the have a brake on the Mountain Acent

I like my Montana. It is by far my lightest rifle I own. However it is no tack driver as its best group so far with 61 gr H4350 and a 150 gr Accubond is 1 1/2" at 100

It's still a keeper

I've heard it can be tricky to get them to shoot better. 1 1/2" is enough for most hunting tough Smiler
At least the brake is removable, but I agree.

I have the Montana in 308 Winchester Anders, and I have become very fond of that rifle.
(not sure if you handled it in England two years ago?)

It took about 70 rounds before the accuracy came and it has a clear preference for the 150 grs bullets, but as a pure deer/roe rifle that is no problem.

just wondering if that 13,5" LOP will fit you, tall skinny fence post you are Big Grin

I've handled a few of those Montanas, and except for the LOP I like them. I would need to add a spacer or two to get them right.
