CZ 550 in a leftie!
I was at the CZ Forum a few minutes ago and a fellow said CZ will be making a leftie in the CZ 550 (didn't say which model) and the CZ 527 in leftie as well. Said he got the info from CZ overseas. He said the company said the CZ 527 will come out first in the fall of 2004. Just thought I'd let you lefties know who was thinking about one of these fine rifles. Tom Purdom

I knew being left handed would pay off one day.
I WILL have one.

Heres my dream CZ550FS LH in 9.3x62. Now that would take the cake. Sean

Three cheers for CZ. This old firm, formerly Brno, is really carving a niche in our market. They are
turning out some fine firearms, and I support them wholeheartedly. I was a Remington fan for many
years, but don't feel they give a damn any longer. So be it. Best wishes.

I wonder if there is any chance they would offer the 416 Rigby in LH??? It would be VERY nice to see an affordable LH bolt action in this caliber.........

I'll wait for the formal announcement. These European companies can be very stubborn when it comes to offering LH rifles.

The Zastava LH Mausers should be here in early 2004.

CZ was never Brno. They are two seperate companies in two different cities.

The confusion is the handiwork of the Communists. From the 1960's till the '90s, they would not let CZ export firearms under their own name. They insisted that all rifles be labeled Brno.

The CZ plant has been around since WWI, and makes all of types of armaments. They made the BKK 600 series of rifles, which today are known as the 550 series.

I think that they will beat Zastava in making a left hand action. The CZ is investment cast, which is easier to do than forging (I assume that Zastava still intends to make a forged left-hand 98).

I'm no lefty, but just got a CZ550 in 9.3x62. I worked up a total of one load 59.0 grains of RL15 with a 286 Nosler partition that went 2425 fps. It could handle at least a grain more powder, but shoots about 3/4 inch every time, just a damn nice rifle for a bit over $400. So far I haven't taken it hunting but did shoot a coyote at about 200 yards with it as he was wandering around in a herd of cattle. That old cartridge works great and recoil to me just doesn't feel anywhere close to a .375, closer to a .30-06. My son, who hadn't shot any rifle larger than a 7x57 (he's 15) shot it and wanted to take it for deer next year.

Holy crap. If this is true I better start saving up. Any chance they'll chamber a 416Rem. What if it were Stainless as well all my prayers would be answered. Next would be a 223 Varmint and maybe a 6.5Swede.

Any more news on this in the last few weeks? I checked the CZ site before the New Year and didn't see anything about this at all.

From CZ's web site:

Q: Does CZ make a rifle for left handers?
A: We have to say that Česk zbrojovka took this problem under serious consideration. In the second half of 2004 we want to make available to the shooting community the CZ 527 rifle duly modified for the left hand use. In preparing stage are further CZ 513 (CZ ZKM 452) and later also CZ 550 rifle models.
