Figuring out the type of rifle that makes the most sense for oneself take a lot of patience and self reflection.

This project first came about when going to the local gunshop just didn't do it for me anymore. I knew there was more out there, for the true rifle nut, than going from a remington to a sako or from a bushnell to a leupold or khales.

So about 6 months ago i started my education towards the high end rifle market.
As well as saving my pennies, lol.

So Here are the final components that my Smith and I have come up with.
Keep in mind this is very personnal.

Action: Kelby Grizzly II Repeater RHRP, fitted for a remington type safety
Why? because its custom and it can still take field work without binding up.



Stock: Mcmillan A-5 black molded with adjustable cheekpiece and lenght of pull
Why? because i prefer prone shooting but aso like the fact that it has a wide slopped forend



Barrels: Clay spencer built interchangeable 308 match and 6mmbr lapua barrels
Why ? because i couldn't make up my mind on wich caliber, so i got both,
Basically with this setup i can get any caliber barrel in the future with a 308 boltface.

trigger: jewell, why? cuz its the best.

Scope: Schmidt & Bender 5x25x56 Police marksman II With the P4 reticle
Why ? Do i really need to explain!.Scope will be here tuesday so ill post pictures


Rings And bases: Badger Picatinny style


Smith: clay Spencer
Why? Cuz he's well known for his outsanding long range precision rifles.

No they are stainless

The Grizzly II action is a round centerfire action made of 416 R stainless steel. It comes in a
number of different configurations. It has the same barrel tenon and bolt design as the short Panda or Kodiak actions. It comes in a single shot or with two different magazine ports that will accept either a Remington 700 type magazine or the new extended length magazine. The single shot is availiable with a micro port in either right bolt/left port or left bolt/right port configurations. The action is drilled and tapped for optional Kelbly or Davidson style scope mount bases. The extended magazine action has standard trigger cross pins while the other two have a trigger bracket that accepts Remington style triggers. The standard finish for the action is high polish.

Costs 350$ and comes with AI magazine.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you could build a house with that reticle.

it does seem a bit complex but it actually is easier to determine range with this type than with the traditionnal mill dots

here's a picture of a similar reticle in the field

Now comes the truly excruciating part of having a custome rifle built...waiting for the finished product. I "should" have mine in a week or two.

Good choice on the 6mmBR...I think that is my next project. Keep us posted on how it turns out.
