K3yston39.3x62 twist?
Well since I recently picked up a "bubba'd" FN military mauser in 30-06 and have four other 30-06s I have decided to cross over to the darkside and have it rebarreled to 9.3x62. What sort of twists are you guys using with your custom barreled 9.3s? Thanks for your help!

SteffenCZ and Tikka use 1:14", haven't checked other brands.
i had an CZ 550 American chambered for 9.3, and it handled both the 232 and 286gr bullets well.

sierra2The data I have on 9.3x62mm barrel twist is 1-14.25" source is Stoegers (old issue) I cannot sem to find the records on my custom VZ-24 in 9.3x62mm. It's a PacNor barrel and shots very well.

KabluewyPacNor = 12" twist,
Shilen = 12",
Lilja = 12"
Douglas = 10" and 12"
Krieger 12" and 14"
Lothar Walther = 14"
Basically or perhaps specifically:
SAAMI = 12" (USA)
CIP = 14" (Metric or European)

mstarlingI put a number 4 taper 1 in 12 twist bbl in my VZ.24 ... shoots 250s and 286s like a banshee! Easily less than 1 MOA with a 1.8-5.5 Zeiss Conquest scope.
My CZ American shoots 286s fine. Is not so good with 250s but very acceptable.
The #4 taper gave me a rifle that weighs 9 pounds with the scope on a light Fajen's synthetic stock. A #3 might have been more portable.
