djpaintlesColumbia SC M-70's in WSM's yet?
Has anyone seen a M-70 produced in South Carolina yet? I haven't seen them so far and was wondering if they were out yet or not.....................DJ

capowardI haven't seen any but Winchester's website lists the WSM's chambered in six of the seven M70 Models (the Safari Express is the exception) so I'm guessing they are being produced.

djpaintlesI looked at the website also but the models they have listed include some old styles that I know where Hartford guns.
They may be out yet i just haven't seen any. My local store got a new shipment of M-70 WSM's in that I thought were SC guns until I checked the Rollmark on the barrel.....................DJ

capowardUnfortunately you don'w know whether the distributor is trying to clean out their old stock or whether some of the guns in the new shipment are SC assembly using legacy New Haven manufactured parts. I think in either case there'll be some unhappy folks that purchase a new M70 thinking it manufactured and assembled in SC only to later identify the New Haven markings.
I did download the 2010 catalog and the WSM offerings mirror the website.

Fish30114DJ, I think this is a SC gun,
Featherweight 270 WSM I haven't seen one in a WSM, but have fondled a 270 and it seemed a pretty good rig. I don't like the 'fleur de lis' effect in the forend checkering, but I know
you could fix that if you didn't!

phurley5I have been shooting one of the S.C. rifles in Featherweight Deluxe Model 70, chambered .270 WSM for over a year. The wood is absolutely fantastic and the rifle shoots with one hole accuracy when I do my part. Don't know where you guys have been, I bought mine at Whitakers Guns, they have had plenty all year. I also have owned one of the New Haven Ultimate Shadows for three years, it is also a real shooter in the same chambering. Good shooting.

DavidHere in Sacramento, CA, up until a month ago, all you could find of the new SC M70s was the WSM calibers in the Featherweight model. They are finally getting in some the the traditional calibers like 30-06, 270 Win, 7mm Rem, and 300 Win Mag and also in other models like Sporters and Supergrades.
Just bought a Sporter Deluxe in 270 Win yesterday, but with our ridiculous Calif laws, I have to wait 10 days to take it home. The Sporter Deluxe is a limited edition model with nicer wood than the standard Sporter.
