mstarling9,3x62 Twist?
Going to have a very nice VZ.24 action barreled into a 9,3x62. Have had wonderful success with that caliber in a CZ550 American.
Will probably use 286 Noslers and Woodleighs in it.
Don't know the twist of the CZ and what twist might be appropriate for 250s.

verhoositzAcording to the 2004 CZ catalog I have the twist for a 9.3x62 is shown as a 1-9.5"s. I seem to remember that that has changed but I'll dig out the CZ-USA or CZ-UB webistes and have a look see.
I just looked at the CZ-USA page and the twist is still shown as 1-9.5"s for a 9.3x62.
I need to anyway since I am about to order a 6.5FS it looks like and want to know the same info.

shrps74As well as I remember, I checked my CZ550 with the "cleaning rod" test and it came out as 1 in 14" twist, which is OK up to any bullet you want. Mine shoots 232gr Norma Vulkans and 286gr. Nosler Parts. equally well. Haven't tried anything heavier. BobG in VA

RaySenderoThe Geenhill formula figures the SLOWEST twist to just stablize the bullet. It uses the diameter and the LENGTH of the bullet.
The only .366 bullet I have is a PRVI 285 grain SP - It measures 1.24" long.
SO.....
150 x .366 x .366 / 1.24 = 16
>>> I would not build it any slower than 1:14 and most probably 1:12.

vapodogI just checked Shilen....thy offer only one twist...1-12".....that makes it easy if you want a Shilen barrel.

505EDI think my R93 barrel is 1-14 and it shoots great. I dont think you can go wrong with a 1-12 or a 1-14.
