McMillan Edge Graphite Stock.
I am thinking of purchasing one of these for my W70 06. I am aware of the weight advantages (that is why I am considering one). Has anyone here purchased one and are you happy with it? I plan on buying one already finished.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Snowwolfe, I have one on a Pre-64 M-70 FW, .30-06. I like it a great deal. With Talley lightweights, a 2.5x8 Leupold it sets at 7lbs 4 oz. I also have one on order from Hill Country Rifles in their Bridges style stock, with the edge fill, also a M-70 FW Classic in .30-06. The Hill Country is to be one of a matched pair with a M-70 in .300 Weatherby. I prefer the Bridges of the two because it feels better in my hands. I had Mark Penrod rebarrel the pre-64 with a Lilja, and while I prefer the Bridges I like the pre-64 a lot. Be warned, however, the Bridges was ordered almost 6 months ago, no fault of Hill Country as I called McMillan today and they are FAR behind in their orders.

I love mine. It's the compact pattern on a Winchester featherweight 30-06, Williams bottom metal and goes 7lbs 4ozs.

Very similar to contour of the Rem 700 mountain rifle stock. I've got one on a custom 7 WSM and love it- very, very lightweight.
