When I stack the mag with 4 down and one in the chamber, the top round in the magazine slops around. Ever had this? What to do?

Your follower is binding or your spring is binding on the front probably or perhaps on the side walls of the magazine or I suppose your spring coul be weak..

But first try putting your cartridges in the magazine and pushing the cartridges rearward before you place the next cartridge in..
