I'm thinking about buying one of these in 300wm. Has anyone had experience with this gun? I currently own a model 70 super shadow in 270wsm amd really like it.

I've got one in .30-06. The fit finish and function is very good on it. HOWEVER when I first got it home it had severe accuracy problems. As in scattering 6" clusters at 100 yards with any and all loads.

I took it to my local gunsmith who mentioned that he had three new M-70's in the shop at the time for the same issues. The issues are no stock bedding to mention and crowns that are not cut concentric to the bore.

He re-bedded it and re-cut the crown. The thing now shoots like .5 moa. I am now happy with it but I am a bit disappointed that the guys in South Carolina can't make these right from the factory.

Overall I'd buy another one because despite the minor issues with bedding and crowning they are well done rifles for a factory mass produced job.
