Thomas Jones225 Gtain TSX in .338 win.
Just mounted a scope
on my Model 70 classic 338 win. Its a 2.5X8 Ziess classic.
Looking on my shel at my stock of .338 bullets, I was happy to find a unopend box of 225 grain tsxs.
Any body shoot this bullet in a .338 ?
What powder works for you ?

HeatCan't really tell you about the Winmag but I shoot them out of my 338-378 Wby. What I can tell you is that the 3 rifles that I load for, all of them shoot the TSXs very well. A friend of mine loads his with IMR 4831. I've also heard you can get good results with H 4831 though I haven't seen any load data for it. It might be a little slower then needed for this cartridge. I'm sure you'll find a load for the TSXs. I've also loaded the TTSXs and the rifle seems to like them equally as well. Mine's a 1 in 10 twist so it handles the long bullets well, especially at 3100 - 3200 fps.

I shoot them out of my Tikka and Ruger. My load is Reloader 19, 75 gr. with a Fed 215 to light them off.. Max load in my rifles but shoots under an inch in both. I couldn't get 4350 to work well enough, Either IMR or H.. H4831 did ok but was about 100 fps slower.

mstarlingBought a bunch of 225 gr X bullets when they were firesaled as the TSX came out ... so don't have any experience with the TSX.
BUT have gotten great groups with the X bullet and IMR 4350 or AA 4350. Rifle w Krieger cut-rifled barrel shoots 2" at 300 yards. Fine for hunting.

Thomas JonesThanks for the replies guy's.
I think I will start with RL-19. Seems to work for some of you , and its been a good powder for me in lots of rounds.
I get decent results with that powder and the 225 grain hornady IL.
And I might as well try it with the TSX.
Thanks again...tj3006
