What's it worth?

fusinoWhat's it worth?
Ok guys I'm about to put a gun up for sale, and I'm wondering what it's worth.
It's a Remington Custom Deluxe in .338 RUM with at most 35 rounds through it and a perfect bore. It has a brand new Leupold VXI 3-9X40 mounted on it. No handling marks whatsoever.
There are a few extras that come with it, but I'd rather just get your opinion on the gun itself.
Ideas?

Charles_HelmIs this the one you just got a short while ago? The honeymoon is over already?

fusinoThe honeymoon is only over because my hunt for 2006 got cancelled

So I won't be using this anytime soon...really no reason to keep it. It's sad.

Charles_HelmAs Scarlett O'Hara said, "tomorrow is another day." If you sell it now you take a loss and spend the money again when you reschedule the hunt. If you keep it you can go hog hunting with it and really roll them!
Don't listen to me -- I really hate the thought of selling guns, even ones I have but do not like.

fusinoBelieve me Charles, I hate selling it as well.

Charles_HelmSince I can't help with the value (I'm sure you've checked Gunbroker, Auction Arms and GunsAmerica already), I'll just wish you good luck with the sale. Sorry you have to part with it.

SnowwolfeIf it is blued steel and walnut.....maybe 500 tops. Stainless add another 50. This does not incude the scope.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Art S.A check of Gunsamerica will tell you what people are asking. A look on AuctionArms may give you a better idea of what people are willing to pay.
A lot will have to do with your location. I am sure it would be easier to sell in Alaska or Wyoming than where I live. Unfortunately, I know our local gunshops are almost standing full of used RUM's in the larger calibers. Some of the owners tell me a big percentage of them come back very quickly with only a few shots fired. The average Billy Bob is not ready for the recoil they encounter.

D99$500-600 for the whole package. The scope isn't worth much unless it's a VXIII.

Paolo9,5x73You already own it, and it don't eat, so keep it! You could probably unload that "88mm" rig for $350US. Hey, it a cruel world!

Frank MartinezI sold one day before yesterday for $570 shipped. It went through a friends sporting goods so I will get 10% less which has already been spent on another rifle. All in all it cost be about $45 dollars to buy it and shoot it a few times.
