gas57308 Ammo for an AR-10 ?
I have the semi-auto AR-10 in 308. Are there factory loadings in a hunting bullet that will reliably feed, shot after shot? Soft points occasionaly hang up when the exposed lead tip digs into the feeding mechanism. I am looking to collect feral hog and south Texas whitetail deer with it.
Thanx in advance!

You might try Federal 165gr. Trophy Bonded Bearclaw. The nose of the bullet does not have a lot of lead exposed, but the tip has a small flat point. If that does not work any of the Ballistic Tip loads would probably feed. Also Winchester Fail-Safes have no lead exposed, and if your rifle will feed ball or Federal Match it should feed Failsafes.

Orion 1Don't forget the Swift Scirocco, Swift A-Frame, Remington Core-Lokt, and Core-Lokt Ultra. All of them have either very little or no lead exposed at the tip.

eshellI've used a lot of 150 gr Ballistic Tips in my .308 M1A. Accuracy has been fine and there have been no shavings in the action to date.
Winshester makes a 150 factory load w/polymer tip:
W-W .308's Remington makes a 165 gr factory load w/polymer tip as well:
