Trigger job on Savage tactical
Hey all, I have a tactical in .308 with a Weaver grand slam 4 x 14. I do not like the trigger pull, have any of you had any success playing with the trigger or put in a after market one you like? Thanks. Trooper Sensitivity

I had a gunsmith rework the trigger on my Savage 116 300 RUM and it is very crisp and a lot lighter than the factory settings.

I didn't like my stock Savage trigger, also- a 6 3/4 Lb. gun with a 6 3/4 Lb. trigger pull? Gimme a break.

I tried a Rifle Basix Sav2 trigger. It came with an excellent installation CD / Video (your choice), so I put it on myself. Decent trigger; fairly wide adjustment of pull weight, fairly crisp with a small amount of creep.

Then I tried the SSS trigger- Fred Moreo installed it while I waited. Somewhat lighter and notably crisper. Reportedly, it also can be installed by a non-professional.

Although I prefer the SSS trigger, I don't think you can go wrong with either. The SSS is somewhat less expensive, too.

There are a few articles on working on the factory trigger found by Google or the "Web search" feature on Windows Internet Explorer. http://www.varminthunters.com/tech/savage seems to be a fairly comprehensive article if you have the tools and the "Touch", for reworking the factory trigger.

the Sharp Shooters Savage Specialties trigger also gets the nod from me. Prolly the best aftermarket trigger out there for the savage.

I install the Sharp Shooter Supply trigger in my 10FLP and my wife's 112FLVSS after trying to adjust the factory trigger.

The SSS trigger is worth the $75.
