Price of Sako Finnbear in good shape
Came across a Sako Finnbear 30-06 in good shape, with rings and old weaver scope for $899. Good price or not?

mike, I have one that is a .338 mag Finnbear L61R and I would not even consider in selling it. It shoots with amazing accuracies and has not ever failed me yet. Seen them a time or two in the auction sites for upwards 1200.00 and more in excellent shape. Got mine back in in 68' with the original rear peep. I suppose when it comes down to it, it is what you want that counts. Some of these are considered to be pre-Garcia and I have not gathered what that means. Sako makes a fine rifle.

Garcia imported rifles until '72 or so, then Stoeger imported them. Some rifles are marked/etched under the bottom of the barrel's.

I have seen Sako's go for 600-750 in plain vanilla '06 or 270 and 264 mag in mint condition for 750 or so, but they may be higher now on average. Quality is nice. Last 338 mag, deluxe model around 1k and that was 5-6 years ago-a Finnbear action.
