MikeG50Consensus on scope mount finish
What is the general consensus on (or what is your opinion) of mounting a matte scope on a gloss blued gun? Do you use gloss bases to match the rifle and matte rings to match the scope, or do you use all matte bases and rings?
All opinions welcomed except those with poor taste!
It depends on how
in touch you are with your feminine side .
I prefer all matte or all gloss depending on the rifle. All my custom jobs are rust blued so a high gloss is nice. My travel rifles are synthetic stocked and matte/teflon finishes. Mismatched rings & bases look odd.

Big Bore Boar HunterI would put the matte rings on gloss basees, but thats just being picky.

BuliwyfI've thought about this several times and I always end up mounting matte bases and matte rings.

nordrsetaIf I had a gloss gun I'd get gloss rings, gloss bases, and a gloss scope.
You gotta be kidding?
I don´t even know if my scipes are glossy or matte as that doesn´t really matter -I know my guna are nice and shiny though and that´s what counts.

Actress Julianne Moore was up for a nude part with director Altman.
She has red hair, and she assured him that "The carpet matches the drapes."
That seemed important when she said it on TV, but I can't get excited about scope rings matching the gun.
