My best hunting pal hunts with a .300 RUM 700 LSS. He had good luck on deer sized critters with the 180 Swift Scirocco factory load. I will caution that expansion is violent for this bullet at RUM velocities.

Not sure of what you are asking............what do you mean by digesting?

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Since every rifle is different even if it is the same make and model, that is impossible to know for sure.A friend has a factory 700lss that shoots the 180gr partition load fairly accurately.

Mine will shoot the 180gr Scirocco decently enough, but I just hate the terminal performance...shot a 2 year old mule deer buck and the bullet didn't completely penetrate the neck. I realize it's a lot of muscle and bone, but I like exit wounds...impact velocity was ~2900fps, ~150yds, what if it had been a quartering shot on an elk?

Formerly "the444shooter" I think I had about 73,000 posts before I had to re-register Wink

I had one of those before I gave it away as a birthday present to my nephew. The normal Reminton 180gr partitions shot 1/2 groups at 100m no problems. Took a moose and 2 deer with it before giving it away.
