Browning X-bolt vs Tikka T3
Accuracy wise, how does the x-bolt compare to the Tikka T3 ?

Both are known for great out of the box accuracy. Personally I'd pick the Xbolt, as the Tikka isn't a true short action. Its a standard length action with a bolt stop for 2.8" rounds.

I agree with Milehigh, cept I'd take the T3. The Xbolt is not pleasing to my eyes.

I have a t3 and an A-bolt. The t3 is a tack driver no question but strangely I'm better with my A-bolt just seems to fit me better. Pick which ever feels better in your hands. Both are excellent choices and accuracy will not be of concern in either rifle.

I like the trigger better on the tikkas, the xbolt has a nicer magazine. The tikkas comes with scope mounts, the browning does not. Brownings have a more traditional wood offering. The tikkas are usually $200 cheaper. I really like my T3 in .243, not unusual to get 1/2 moa in a synthetic light weight rifle.

Either is a good rifle, but I do like the tikka a tad better.

Don't forget the X-bolts have a user adjustable trigger as well.

Mailman - curious, do you have a Gander Mountain near you? There is something here on the used shelf for a good price you might be very interested in, and they do store to store transfers for free!
