577NitroExpressWashington DC area Gun Show next month
Anyone else going to the Washington DC area Gun show at the Dulles Convention Center November 18 to 20, 2005?

TomboPossibly, I hate going to Washington for anything gun related..Always afraid I'll wind up in an internment camp being re-educated...

rootbeerIf I am not mistaken, the Convention Center is in Fairfax County? Why buy there? You'll have to wait 15 days to get your gun. Go buy your steel in Loudoun or Frederick County and avoid the "you're not an honest citizen" waiting period. Better yet, wait until there's a show at Hugo's down in Bealeton. I've bought several rods there. There are also shows at the county fairgrounds in Harrisonburg (I-81, Exit 243; go south on US11 about two miles past the truckstop; fairgrounds on the right).

JaywalkerThe problem with the Bealton (and other small shows) is that half of the 10 tables they have contain flea market items. It usually takes me no more than three minutes to see what's there and leave - not a good use of my $5 entry fee.
Loudon County Guns in Leesburg is "my" gunstore, and they have a reasonable selection of current models, if you like the WSM and SAUM stuff, but not much used, and not enough standard calibers.
I haven't bought a firearm in Fairfax County for a few years - what's this "15 day" wait?

577NitroExpressThe 15 day thing is news to me - I did the paperwork to transfer a firearm from an out of state seller and the transaction only took 10 minutes...
And yes, the gun show is near Dulles Airport in Fairfax County.
