Sako Finbear (L61?)
I have run onto one of these in 30-06. What is it worth. Has an old weaver steel tube scope on it. He wants $900.00.

What do I look for in the way of stuff that might be wrong.

It is an L61R. Had it written down, and finally found it.

If it is a pre-Garcia in really good shape it might be worth almost that A later Garcia would be about $550 in good shape. I bought one about a year ago just as I described for $550-with a 4X Redfield. Very accurate rifle.

The deluxe models are bringing $700 to $1000. The standard models from $500 up depending on condition. You can tell the difference right away by looking at the floor plate. If it has the wire engraving, it is a Deluxe. A plain floor plate is standard.

It doesn't have the engraving on the floorplate, and don't know if it is pre-garcia.
I think I will pass on this one.

I think 900 is way to high. If you really want a Sako L61 in 06 there is one at Green Mountain Guns, Lakewood Co. I think you could get it for about 600. Great shape, and I think is pre Garcia. I don't work there, I just like to see these good rifles get a job. I bought an L61 in 7 Rem last summer for 550 with rings. Perfect with the Orange colored stock.
