BlacktailerGot rid of the factory finish on my BACO M70
The factory finish had a red hue which I didn't like and also tended to chip anytime it was bumped into anything. I'm happy with the results.
Original finish
Reworked
Should hold up better and shows off the grain more.

BACO Browning Arms Corp.
I stripped it with a chemical paint remover then mineral spirits to get the original stain out then satin Varathane.

Bill/OregonNice result. I have a Model 70 made in 1962, and while the stock has some nice grain, the finish and checkering are just dreadful.
