can anyone tell me; are there any rifle manufacturers that still offer the 300 H&H Magnum as a factory chambering?

There's a limited edition Ruger #1 in .300 H&H coming out as one of a 5 rifle series through Lipsey's.

Steyr-Mannlichers are still around in .300 H&H. I've owned two, and both were tack drivers!

Sadly I think that you are correct. They are not available in the UK according to Edgar Brothers the British importer/agent.

according to a catalogue(from a gun store) i have, they are available upon request here in Norway.

They are custom order here in the US, and cost accordingly. There's a 2 to 4 month waiting period, and nearly twice the cost. I think CZ-USA orders the barreled action from Europe, but that's just my guess. It's probably up to the importer whether or not it's available.

An inquiry of CZ-Europe may be worthwhile.

I made an inquiry about how to get one. And they called me back on it. You go to your local dealer and order one and it takes about 12 weeks. I am going to Order one, at least they chamber for 300 H+H and I have to say the rifle has very nice lines.

I received mine in about 5 or 6 days. Just went to my favorite local shop and asked if he could order it; the distributor he uses had one in stock. Would have been only about 3 days but it took them 2 to process the order and ship it.

The SC are a little more expensive, but you get a number of upgrades (wood, barrel band, bedding, etc...). I'm pretty happy with mine.

You are fortunate. It's difficult to understand a distributor having a rifle for which ammunition is generally unavailable.

My M-70 is a 300 H&H, ooops I bought it in 1940 something an paid $106 for it new!!

You can still pick one up in the gun digest for about $1200, money well spent and if you ever want to sell it, you will make a profit, not so with a new gun...Long live the pre 64,,,

My hunting partner has a Remington 700 grade II custom in 300 H & H. It has a medium heavy barrel with a beautiful piece of wood using their classic pattern with hand checkering.

I was willed a pre-64 in 300 H&H, made in the same year I was born, 55. The long barrel is a bit different from those that I own that are from 84 or so but it handles nice and is very accurate. I bought a 100 rounds of new brass for it a couple of years ago that along with the four boxes of 55 to 57 vintage silvetips should keep me shooting till I pass it down. If you an find one at a decent price the pre 64 in 300 H&H is a classic rifle in a classic round. I also owna CZ 550 in 9.3X62 a very nice rifle for the money. I would whole heartedly recommended a CZ for the money, again a classic 98 action that is well made.
