I recently aquired a Huskqverna 640. Seller belived it was an 1640, and sold it to me as such. From pics on the net I did not spot it as an 640. Anyway, I think the seller was not tricking me, and the price was right, so I decided I keep it anyway. It has original barrel and stock. Barrel excellent condition. I only have shoot about 15 rounds with it, coz without butt-pad it was a pain in the ass to shoot(sorry, couldnt resist). It did show some very promising groups. Have sanded and oiled the stock. I dont know what the wood is, it is maybe a little light to be walnut? Like it, but it is not perfect for mounting a scope. It is in 8*57. heres some pics:

JD MillerStock is Beechwood, which is a very light color, and stain was used to darkin it
Nice rifle! I have an old S&W Model "B" in .308 Win. made in Sweden. It was made by Husqvarna for S&W.

stigonomScope is used on other rifle, which is used for tactical comp. (finn-sniper) and have some remains of camo-paint, under camo it is still fine!

That's a 1640/1600 you got not a 640 which is a Commercial FN 98 action. Still very nice.

hej Stig
many years ago i owned one in 3006 exactly like yours with FN mark on the action in 3006 with 180 grain upward recoil was noticable and as you mentioned it was really pain in

to shoot , but it was really very accurate despite the horrible kick!! i trade it later for a new ruger with recoil pad!
but i miss that old husky now
