I need a good recepie for my 300 H&H. I can find over the counter loads but I am looking for one topped off with 180 or 220 gr nose bullets. (Because sometimes I want to shoot round nose bullets)

I have a friend who is loading for me but when he seats the bullet to the normal depth there is not enough headspace and the bullets have been seizing and have even pulled out of the brass when an unfired round was ejected. When he seats them deeper - well they look pretty bad but work OK.

Suggestions?

loads for the 180: 65gr IMR 4350 @2900 fps (mild)
Better:
71gr RL-22: 3010 fps both under MOA out of my pre-64

200gr: 65gr IMR 4350@ 2500 fps Also SUB MOA

I've used Partitions in the 180 & 200gr but I settled on the RL-19 loading with 180 TSXs. Very accurate but as yet no direct experience on game. The Partitions (as usual did perform on game ranging from deer to black bear & hogs). jorge

My first Post is right here. Have a nice converted 1917 Enflied in 300 H&H & with Nosler 155, 165gr. with Win 760 or H4831SC, it's a 0.5MOA rifle. Before you get "recipes" & following the book for overall length, do a little research and determine seating depth with a ink marker on bullets bearing surface....take the seating stem down in slow increments (even with a dummy no powder load) and find the "etch" mark where bullet makes contact. For my loads, I am backed off 0.010 from that etch point. Loading books suggest a seating length that will fit most chambers but you will want to examine what I have related to.....r in s.
