A question for MS Mod 1950 owners.
Guys

With the model 1950 Mannlicher Schoenauer rifles, is the overall thickness/width of the stock in the magazine area the same for all the available calibres? Or, put another way, is a M1950 in 6.5x54 a slimmer rifle than one in 9.3x62?

Cheers.

M-S had a standard receiver for the 1950, all calibers. For half stocks, they did have different thickness for a European stock (slimmer) than for a US 1950. Full stocks were the same for both.

Kurt is quite right in his description of the Post WWII Mannlicher-Schoenauer gunstocks. Prewar the Austrians had "assorted" stock designs, but Post WWII they decided to pay attention to better engineering and production practice. The Euro stocks can be more slim, my 6.5x55mm Model NO is quite petite when compared to any other Post WWII Mannlicher.
