Barnes TSX in the .308
I will start this as a new thread as it is somewhat lost in another thread. I am interested in everybody's opinion/results using a 150 grain Barnes TSX as far as terminal results. Do they get higher velocities as is stated by Barnes? My standard 150 grainers are about 2750fps from my rifle.

I don't know that I've heard Barnes saying they'll get higher velocities but that you can use a lighter weight bullet for a given purpose... That's where your extra velocity comes from... Ballistic coefficent will be one of the determining factors to velocity.. Barnes have a good BC and even better in the new MRXs...

Their claim is of higher velocity due to the fact that there is less bearing surface on the TSX bullet. Yes, Barnes bullets are good enough to be able to drop down at least one weight class of bullets. I shot a standard Barnes X lengthwise through a gemsbok and found it 95 percent under the hide on the rear end. This was a 160 grain out of a 7 mag. It was also real good on elk. I am just interested in results people have had using the new TSX.
