33 Winchester
I don't know if there is many of these out there among our fraternity on here.

However in a conversation with Hornady yesterday, they indicated that their 200 grain 338 Flat Point has been dropped. If you shoot one of these old girls, you had better stock up on the bullets.

I frequently load my 338/06 to the standards of the old 33 Winchester, and it makes a good 150 /200 yd nostalgic load for deer or bear hunting.

Why do they keep dropping the good stuff to make room for a new "this year's trendy bullet"/ [Confused] [Mad] [Roll Eyes]

Well, that just means I go to cast and the Hawk bullets

I have loaded for the .33 Winchester and I have some of those 200 flat nose bullets also. If I ever got a .338 I might play with a fantasy deer load.

If I ran out of bullets for a 33 Win I might load the 210 Nosler Partition backwards.

I don't like the design of the Hawk bullets at all what with that open base. I am afraid the core will blow out.

They drop stuff because it does not sell in sufficient amounts to make a profit.

OUCH! !
That is the bullet I load in 338 Mag to 33 Winchester velocities to hunt TN white Tail deer.

Would likely wound elk or Mulies though, cause I read it takes one of the new super-bang magnums to stop one of the modern elk or mulies! [Wink]

Guess I had best get that flat point bullet to shooting as well as the round point Lee bullet and just go to cast in this loading.

At the velocities produced by even the HOTTEST .33 WCF loads, cast bullets are all that are needed....

I tried that bullet in my 338-08 and didn't have much success with accuracy. I swithced to 200gr. Hornady SP and found them to be wonderful in both accuracy and knockdown power.
