Remington M600/.350 RM velocities...
Have never had the chance to chronograph the M600 with 18.5" barrel that replaced the M700 Classic with 22" barrel that I had hunted with for several years. The M700 used to get 2660 fps with the 225 Nosler Petition ahead of 60.0 grains of WW748 and a CCI 350 primer. In the M600:

225 Nosler Petition/2530 fps

220 Speer Hot Core/2520 fps

Factory 200 grain CorLoc/2670 fps

160 Hornady/14.0 700X/small game load/1500 fps.

About a 40 fps drop in velocity per inch of barrel loss.

It would be no problem to get the velocity back up to 2650 fps as I had the velocity of the M700 up to 2750 fps but didn't like the amount of recoil generated so I backed down a bit...I doubt that anything hit with this load is going to know the difference.

Next week I take delivery of a Ruger AllWeather that has been shortened to 18"..it is going to be the gun for rainy days and the 4-Wheeler as they are a little rough on wood/blue guns... "less than 40 rounds fired"...I wonder why... Eeker If they shot the 40 rounds off the bench I know exactly why...

If you want a 22" factory, 80 rounds or so fired, let me know, it can be the 'big brother' to the short one!

Seriously, there is more boom than bite, but they could use a better recoil pad to make sessions a little more kind.

Thanks for the offer...I am more of a carbine person preferring hunting guns with barrels less than 20" or overall lengths not much more than 40". 95% of my hunting is done where shooting distances are not much over 75 yards. Of the 20 or so deer my friends and I have taken over the last 5 years the longest shot has been about 50 yards and going back over the last 15 years I can think of only one or two that went over 100...

So why are you selling your .350?? You can send me a PM on the price as I have a friend who may be interested. As to a better recoil pad, I believe both Pachmayer and Limbsaver have factory fit pads for the Ruger synthetic stock(s). I plan on odering one when the Shorty Ruger gets here.

Picked up the Ruger last night...looks like it will be a great little gun for the 4-wheeler...

NICE rifle, but I would definitely hunt with earplugs, I had a 600 like yours, clean as a whistle as yours is, the guy who bought it put a 2x7 and put some handloads through it and said it cloverleafed.

I think the Ruger is just as capable, I just need to learn to SQUEEEEZE it off right, I shoot about moa with it now.

No shortage of power with this gun for sure. It sounds like anything hit with these 35's are toast quick.
