Wife’s new rifle
Christmas is not over, but I was at a gun show this morning. Folks, I found this nicest Ruger ever made.

It is a M77 push feed with long claw extractor. The bolt, extractor, and follwer have been beautifully jeweled. The chamber is 308 Win. But the contour is lighter than a 22 Hornet. The trigger breaks at 4 pounds.

The stock is what any Winchester Featherweight dreamed of being. It is extremely svelte. Very Scottish stalking rifle in lines. I cannot describe it. It is capped with rosewood forend tip. The bolt has been bolt knob has been slightly flattened and checkered on both sides.

The SN starts with 78. The rifle weighs 6 pounds.

If anyone wants pictures, trust me you want pictures pm me contact info.

The barrel is 22 inches. It does have handling marks that ca only be seen in light on close inspection.

Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

I took my then girlfriend with me to Africa in 1975. Thinking she might like to try her hand at hunting, I had a 7X57 made up on a G33/40 action, with a featherweight stock and a 22 inch barrel with a Model 70 Featherweight profile. She decided she didn't want to hunt, so I used the rifle to take a bushbuck, two wildebeest and a record book Peter's gazelle. I still have the rifle.
