bartscheBlaser 93 in .308

Shot a fellas .308 blaser over my Oehler yesterday. I had never shot one before. There were four shots two each different loadings. This looked to be a tachtical rifle and had a great 9X scope on it.
What a pleasant shooting rifle. at 100 yds. The four shoots were < .500". After having read all the adverse propaganda about this rifle I was pleasantly surprised.Just FYI.

djpaintlesBartsche, Is your Blaser a LRS2? The Blasers are pretty interesting rifles in either form though aren't they?.........................DJ

Michael Robinsonbartsche, I have a .308 barrel for my R93 and brother, you are preaching to the choir!
But then again, all of my R93 barrels will shoot three shots into one hole if I do my part.
As the old ad used to say: "Try it - you'll like it!"

A .308 would shoot??? Imagine that! I thought you hated the .308 Winchester?

Don't hate it! One of my best paper punchers is a .308. It's just that it is a poor compromise design that should have been done better. My feelings for the .243 are about the same but I've owened a few of them. Of superior design is the 57mm length cartridge family. Except for Remington's blunder when they brought out the .244 in such a silly way all the others in the family (US and Euro) have a fine track record as they should, being of sound, well conceived designing.

DthfrmbvI love my Blaser R93 in .308 Win, in .375 H&H Mag, in .300 Win Mag, in .243 Win and in .222 Rem.

Roger I was just ribbing you a little.
But it seems to me that the .308 Win even if an anomalie is a great design. Why??? Cause it will shoot well even out of a piece of lead pipe. As will the .243 Winchester and a lot of the other .308 Win off shoots. I am a scientist and one thing I have learned in my scintific career is that some things defy science, at least science as we know it.
I think for whatever reason, the .308 Win is a GREAT design 'cause it works.
