NitromanCartridge In The Banner?
That looks quit a bit like a .338 A-Square? Am I wrong?

vapodogI'd have called it a .338 Win Mag!

jdunlapmo.338 Win-Mag. See the belt? The A-Square (338-06) is a beltless non-magnum cartridge based on the 30-06 case necked up. That picture is of a belted magnum... sooo, I'm going along with vapodog on this one and saying it's a 338 Win Mag.

NitromanWell slap me up side my head!
The .338 A-Square is a slightly shortened .460 Weatherby case, reformed down to .338. I did see the belt, and noticed the sloping case walls, which is why I thought it was the A-Sq.
I wasn't thinking of the .338'06 A-Sq.

gumboot458........I think its a 358 Norma mag ...
Nitro , The other option I was thinking was the 375 A-Square ,, To me it appears to have to large a diameter bullet to be a 338 ,,,,,,,

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

LOL
I had a knife in one hand and a gun in the other.. I didn't know whether to cut around the corner or shoot down the street?
Actually it is the .338 Winchester Magnum, check out the original photo:
That's off the .338WM reloading page here. Flip it 90 degrees and put a framing effect around it and there you are.

gumboot458.........To me it almost looks like Kablueeeee,s 366 Alaskan , but not quite ....But the bullet looks too wide to be a 338 .. ,.,
But if thats what they have in the reloading pages then thats all there is to it , that is what they have in the reloading pages .....

The more I look at it, the more I think it's a little... off... It looks a lot more like it's around .358 to me...

Good guess.
I was guessing 250g Hornady SP or Sierra GK.
After looking at both, the Hornady has a much sharper ogive. It could be a 215g Sierra GK, though.
The 215g Sierra GK has more visible lead at the front like the bullet in the picture.
was thinking 215gr sierra also..........but went with the 250gr

LOL! Well, I suppose then that I need a good slap upsied the head, too!! I guess I just showed my inherent dislike for belted magnums... You said 338 A-Square, and my mind automatically jumped to the rather presumptuously-named 338-06 "A-Square"!! OOPS!!

Finally we have a really important thread!
I'm guessing Norma case, Federal primer, Sierra 250 and a lot of N160

Now, THAT is a cartridge for an Italian Army rifle, based on the design of their either-direction fighter aircraft of WWII fame....
