Big Wonderful WyomingPretty neat rifle.
I met Bertram of Bertram brass frame a few months ago in Australia, he shoots a 350 Rigby for everything.

RockdocWow, that is wonderful. what a lovely rifle. Complete too.
I have a rfile on a magnum mauser action made in 1913 (H&H).
I wonder how many magnum actions Rigby made rifles for and how many were released after 1911 to the trade?

TraxRigby did not only have the Germans manufacture the action, but were also know
to have the Germans provide JohnRigby&Co. with an already stocked barrelled action.

RockdocTypical german mounts. But aren't they long - to straddle a magnum mauser action!
How do they machine(!) the rear bridge for the mount?
The rifle is a beauty.

TraxThe rear bridge mount slot goes completely through the bridge of the receiver.
ie; you can see the bolt body.
The slot has angled wall, to create a rearward wedge arrangement with scope ring.

RockdocOk thanks. I think i have photos of that somewhere from a game scouts old 9.3x62mm. Will check if the same.

Tim CarneyLooks very nice JC. Which of the 350 Rigby calibers is it? The 350 magnum which used the rimless cartridge in 250 grains, or the 350 No. 2 which has a slanted box magazine so it can use that rimmed cartridge with its 225 grain bullet?
Especially admire the aperture sight on the cocking piece.
Regards, Tim

theback40Do you use Bertram brass, or make them from 375 H&H brass?
She is a beauty!

DahavHave heard bad things (soft, etc) about bertram brass. Are there any alternatives?
Great rifle- I have its twin, but have not started to reload.

Rich ElliottPretty much the same as the .35 Whelen ballistics. No flies on that.

I wouldn't worry about Bertram brass being soft. I use his seconds 416Rigby cases and even when loaded to near 416Weatherby velocities his brass performs well. Others I know have no problem with his brass and if he uses his 350 for most of his shooting then that brass would certainly be good quality.
