any info on weatherby europa? not much on line.
Got a line on a 8 by 57 in 95 percent for $950. Does not appear to have been imported into the U S in any numbers. See it called a mark v europa in places. Saw a note it is discontinued. Saw a couple sold for 1000 to 2000.
Got any links or other info?
Thx

Years ago, I had a Mark V Europa in .300 Wby. Mag. The gun had an oil finnish stock with the regular Weatherby features. I have a hunting friend who owns a Europa in .240 Wby. Mag., and He has taken alot of Whitetail, and Roe deer with it. His gun has the oil finnish stock, and also has double set triggers ( Mine had a single trigger). Both above guns were made in West Germany. I believe that these guns were made for the European market. Neat guns, you are right not alot of info on these.

My guide in Alaska, Bob Graham, was a career military man that spent years in Germany. The rifle he still uses is a Wby Europa in 300 Wby. It's not much of a looker these days, with years in the AK bush and a chipped green paint job over the wood, but he knows how to use it!
