mark65x55Interarms Mark X
Me and my dad are still looking for him a rifle. Today I looked a Mark X at my local gunsmiths. 30-06 with a 24" barrel, matte finish and syn. stock. I think the stock is a Butler Creek. John was asking $350 for it and a set of Redfield rings. What'd you think is it worth it? I was looking at buying a Winchester Black Shadow for $430 when he brought out Mark X. Which one would you recommend?

Ku-dudeMark X actions are Mauser 98 actions made in one of several places depending upon their date of manufacturer. Thye are quite good. I'd think that it would be worth the asking price with rings. Ku-dude

JStordahlMark: I've had both.......the ones I still have are the Winchesters. That said, there's nothing wrong with the Mark X, but the Winchester will hold its value better and likely be more accurate......besides, there's just something about a Winnie, made in the good ol' USA.

PumpkinheaverI had a custom 25-06 built on a Mark X action that gave me years of dependable service. I only got rid of it because I had gun fever and traded it for something else.

Major CaliberI've got Mark X's, and Win model 70's. The Mark X's are More accurate!

<Albertahunter>My Mark X 30-06 goes into 4.5-6 inches at 300 yards with a bad trigger and a bit of wind.

SocratesJust got mine Mark X back with a custom stock.
Once sighted in, at 50 yards, it shoots one, big hole. The whole moves slightly left and up, as I try to speed fire. Still, it's an inch, cold, easy.
I like it a lot. Ran out of daylight, but, with a 26 inch barrel, I hope to have decent 100 yard accuracy..

<eldeguello>Mark X's are good, serviceable Mausers. Some of them have finishes in which the polishing was uneven, leaving visible wavy surfaces, particularly on the receivers. This is easy to see, if you examine them closely in good light.

AtkinsonThe mark x has great barrels and they all shoot exceptionally accurately for the most part. They are very servicable rifle, they feed, extract and dependability is a pre requisite imo...They have that reputation....
