I guess it don't go over so well.

Maybe it was the MRC actions but I expect it was the "fat" mags.

I dunno Bill, The WSM's are still selling good IMO, well at least when you look at what's on the rack at the gun store.

I bet MRC had something to do with it. Quality or delivery would be my guess.

I picked one up a few weeks ago. It is by far the best "production" rifle I have ever seen that wasn't close to $1000 dollars.

My local dealer has had one on the rack for over a year with no takers and I think it is selling for a little over 600.

I asked folks at the SHOT Show what happened here, and the answer is the components Chay Zed was using did not allow them to sell the rifle at the price point they wanted.

If you want a WSM, I recommend you look for one of these rifles.

I've got a Model 3 in Stainless. I'm just wandering if anyone knows if Montana Rifle supplied the barrels.

browninggwgm, what caliber is your model 3, have you shot it, group size, fedding etc.?

I recall a post by one of the MRC guys that indicated it was a mrc barrel.

I only saw one and while having an attractive piece of wood by factory standards the inletting was absolutely horrible. Gaps that could hide the neighbors cat.

It's a 300WSM. I have to say it was one of the most particular rifles I've ever reloaded for. I was on the verge of getting rid of it. I had tried several different powders and bullets and wasn't getting what I was looking for. Finally I hit upon a very accurate load that was good for .5" groups at 100 yrds. Just to verify the load was good I loaded up 15 shells and all 15 shots were within one big hole about 1.25" in diameter. I decided to call it quits there. The load was 67gr of RL19 using 150gr Nosler Accubonds. The bullets were seated .025 off the lands. With the 15 shots I got an average velocity of 3083 with an ES of 23 and SD of 11. This load is very critical in my rifle because if I go up or down .2gr of powder, the groups start opening up. I'd never seen anything like it before. I've put over 350 rounds through it and never had any feeding problems. Maybe I'm lucky because I have read of others having feeding issues with the Model 3's.

If I had a genuine interest in a WSM, I wouldve purchased a model 3. But I am not, so its discontinued, so now CZ can start hopefully making some 7mm or 300's without that hogback stock!! 7mm REM mag and 300 WIN mag that is. Hell, I would like to see some straight stocked CZ's chambered for some RUM's.

I think the limited cartridge selection didn't help the cz3 at all.

Ones I saw didnt have these problems.

Yes they did. The barrels were buttoned barrels from and installed by MRC.
