swampfoxM70 Coyote WSM; two action styles?
Put a used Coyote .300 WSM on layaway today. Thought for sure it had the Classic style action with the Mauser style claw extractor.
Then got back to the house and surfed the Winchester site....lo and behold the Coyote in WSM calibers is made on a "controlled round push feed action".
Was I seeing things at the shop or has the WSM Coyote been made on two different actions....the Classic and the new "CRPF"?
All the regular calibers have been and still are made on the old push feed M70 action. Just the WSM's are different apparently.

markusI have a coyote in 243 with the stainless barrel but blued action. I believe that is how they came in 2001.
Mine is just a straight push feed just like a remington. This new CRPF thing is new for 2003.
As far as I know all the coyotes and black shadows are push feeds. No claw extractor.

Savage99For the application of a "Coyote" M70 I think the system they have is ok. Of course you don't pay as much for that model.

BangCheck out gunsmithing section. Bearclaw put pictures of this crpf on there. I think it was 5-6 months ago.

swampfoxApparently the WSM Coyote's were made on the Classic action for a while. Other WSM's are still in the Winchester lineup on the Classic, but all WSM Coyotes are now "CRPF" controlled round push feeds. Standard caliber Coyotes are still the old push feed design. The rifle I put money on is a Classic actioned .300 WSM.
