Thomas JonesGreat day at the range !
I had some fun today !
got to see some very interesting rifles, and shoot 1 of them. It has been raining so much round here I just had not had a chance to shoot in awhile. But I took my 30,06 out and finaly shot the loads i listed on that poll awhile back, I will post on that tommorow.
But ! I got to shoot a brand new stainless laminated marlin 30/30 with the new pointed hornady loads. I did not do to well with the factory buck horns but the owner was doing 2" at 100 and it was a kick. If they produce those bullets for hand loaders, a new marlin 30/30 improved with a set of peeps or mabye a low end variable would be a truly fantastick deer rifle !
Also I got to hold but not shoot a beautifull winchester model 1876 in 45/75. This thing is in excelent working condition and the owner who casts his bullets, (the bore is.454 not .458 ) Shot it off handed and quite well.
What a beautifull rifle that was built in 1882 the owner said. What a joy to own that one, I bet its woth 3000.00 at least My 1955 featherweight shot quite well with an avarage for 12 3 shot groups under 1.5 inches. I will post on the specifics tommorow !!!

JaywalkerSounds like fun, Thomas. Care to share your location?
Two inches with buckhorn sights is pretty good!

JALThomas, that's my kind of day out. My range here is too restricted and straight laced to have much fun, so my friends and I take selections into the bush and have at it.
Variety and spice of life stuff.
